Hand Made Prayer Ropes

Hand made Prayer Ropes wrapped by the monks of the All Merciful Savior Monastery using either 100% Marina Wool or Rattail. We offer these Prayer Ropes in a variety of sizes – both 10 knot finger rings (only available in wool) and 33 knot bracelets as well as the more standard 50 and 100 knot sizes.

The default color for all of these ropes is black. If you wish for a different color please contact us to see whether or no we have your desired color already made in our limited on-hand stock or will have to wrap one from scratch.

Beads are placed between every 25 knots of the ropes for the 50 and 100 knot prayer ropes. For the 33 and 10 knot ropes there is a single bead.  Special, custom made adjustments for more or fewer beads can also be arranged for these ropes (please inquire for details and prices for both the special order and custom sized ropes).

We also offer special order sizes of 150 and 300 knot ropes if desired, as well as custom sized ropes not listed here (again, please inquire for details and prices for both the special order and custom sized ropes).

For all orders please allow an average of 2-4 weeks to tie the knots of the ropes. Of course, the more knots per rope, the more customizations requested and the more prayer ropes overall one orders the longer an order itself will take! ^^

Shown below are samples of, from left to right and top to bottom: 100 knot rattail, 50 knot rattail, 10 knot wool, 100 knot wool, 33 knot wool, 50 knot wool.

Explanation of the Gospel of John by Blessed Theophylact of Ochrid

Written 900 years ago by Blessed Theophylact of Ochrid, these commentaries distill the essence of St. John Chrysostom’s preaching—and that of other great fathers of the patristic era—many centuries before his own time.

Blessed Theophylact has given us a “ Bible study” of ancient and divine origin, untouched by contemporary opinions and discussions. It is in fact, timeless and has proven its value to every generation of Orthodox Christians during the past nine centuries.

Translated from the original Greek by Fr. Christopher Stade. Paperback. 328 pages

Note: This paperback edition is out of print and being sold for $80.00 and more online. We are offering this for a limited time at this price.

St. John Cassian on Prayer

For more than sixteen centuries, St. John Cassian has been honored by the universal Church as one of the greatest of early monastic writers.

The breadth of his experience of eremitical life in the Egyptian desert, his distinction as a theologian and churchman, and especially his veneration for some of the great Desert Fathers are conveyed in the Institutes and Conferences which continue to be prized as a spiritual resource by Christians in East and West.

The two classic conferences on Prayer are published here in a new translation by Augustine Casiday together with a critical introduction.
