Baptisms
On Saturday July 17, 2004 Edward and Kaye Pierson were baptised into the Orthodox Church. Both are converts from the Roman Catholic Church and have been attending the Monastery’s Mission for about one year. Edward took the name of Edward the Martyr of England, Kaye took the name Matrona for the Holy Martyr Matrona of Thessalonica. The baptism was attended by several of Edward’s family and a number of mission parish members including sponsors Peter Serko and Eudokia Boots.

9th Hour-Vespers-Compline 5pm
Thursdays: Divine Liturgy 7am
Saturdays: Divine Liturgy 8am
All Night Vigil 5p.m.
Sundays: Hours 9:40am Divine Liturgy 10am
Holy Days: Divine Liturgy 9:00am

Visiting the Monastery
Dress Code for visitors to the monastery:
Men: Pants (no shorts), shirt (no T-shirts)
Women: Head covering (scarf) should be worn at all times both in church and on monastery grounds
Long dress or skirt (below the knees) with long sleeves. No make up or perfume
Orthodox clergy should wear cassocks or riassas.
Vashon Island is only accessible by ferry from either Tacoma (Pt Defiance)
or Seattle (West Seattle Fauntleroy). Ferries can be crowded so please check
the schedule and leave enough time to miss a ferry if you are planning on attending
services.
The Washington State Ferries Website has up-to-date schedules so please check
there first.
